Cookout at the South Boston Yacht Club

Great job by Peggy O'Brien, Chicky Hill & everyone else who helped organize the cookout at the SBYC.
For $15.00 it was a steal for all the food that was around. The voluminous amount of food consisted of cheeseburgers, hot dogs, macaroni salad, potato salad & assorted condiments, various types of pastry (including a birthday cake for Bill Roach). It was a bad place to be if you were on a diet.

It cost less than half of what we paid for the cruise on Boston Harbor and you could either board or jump ship whenever you wanted! We also had some welcome guests who dropped by, who were also part of our history.

The music was supplied by Curtis who spun out music that was beyond the oldies but goodies. The music was reminiscent of the stuff we used to sing up at the M Street park with the suds of beer to take the edge off our vocal chords. God help you if you sang out of tune during these songfests.

These get-togethers are a mixture of past and present, and take us back to a more carefree time in our lives.
